I have loved teddy bears and other soft cuddlies for as long as I can remember and in fact my bed from a young age was always swamped in my "friends". So much so, my Mum always said there wasn't enough room for me! When I left home and went to University in Hull, England, I discovered a beautiful little town nearby (near enough to cycle there!) called Beverley. On one of my many visits I discovered a shop called The Toy Gallery - I was in heaven! To stand in the middle of a room and be surrounded by the most beautiful and individual teddy bears was the most amazing experience I had ever had. Still now, when I enter a bear shop or go to a bear show I get the same feeling.

After collecting bears for 15 years, I thought it would be the most wonderful thing to start a business with bears, what can be better than combining your passion with work? I had moved to Colorado, USA and had found it difficult to find a local teddy bear store, and felt there was a need to make the teddy bear world more accessible; so what more natural than the internet? My Dad has called me "Sarah Bear" all my life and so that naturally became the name of my business.
